Lutein & Zeaxanthine
The natural carrotenoids lutein and zeaxanthin have been the subject of dozens of studies in thousands of subjects and been shown to improve several aspects of brain function, blood flow and health.Scientists studying the cognitive function of a group of over 4000 people, found that both lutein and zeaxanthin improved cognition, memory,and executive function (Feeney, 2017). Similarly, researchers from the Department of Psychology at the University of Georgia found that a combination of lutein and zeaxanthin improved neural brain function and blood flow (Lindbergh, 2017). Additionally, a comprehensive review of over 70 scientific studies showed that higher lutein intake or levels of lutein in the blood is associated with healthier blood vessels, blood flow in the brain, and a healthier heart (Leermakers, 2016). Recently, a group of scientists suggested that there should be a daily recommended intake for lutein (Ranard, 2017).
