KIKI Health’s Organic Reishi Mushroom Capsules are grown on a wood-rich substrate, which is the natural habitat for the mushroom. This is a high-potency extract with a 15:1 – 17:1 ratio. Extracted from 100% fruiting bodies, these mushrooms boast full-spectrum benefits and are standardised to 50% beta-glucan-rich polysaccharides. They contain no mycelium, grain or starch.
KIKI Health grows organic red Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum) mushrooms on Duanwood (original wood logs), a wood-rich substrate where Reishi develops organically, resulting in a strong and high-quality reishi extract with the most bio-active ingredients available.
Reishi contains two types of bioactive compounds: beta-D-glucans (a form of polysaccharide) and triterpenes (triterpenoids). Glucans can also differ based on their structure. Mushrooms grown on grain substrate are high in alpha-glucans, whereas mushrooms produced on wood substrate are high in beta-glucans.
Ganoderma lucidum’s triterpenes are derived from the use of wood as a substrate. As a result, if Reishi was grown on grain, it will have little or no triterpenes.
